The coffee shop chick

Yeah I don't buy that at all...

reply

What specifically? Do you mean his ex-wife in the coffee shop?

The part of that I wasn't buying was that the entire restaurant wasn't shooing Marc and his stinky cat carrier either into the restroom to take care of the stench or back out onto the street to get it out of their faces.

The first episode was not as good as those that followed, I thought. But that scene filled us in on his relationship with his ex at least.

No, the recent episode with the hot young blonde hooking up with Marc. There is no way a girl like her would have a NSA relationship with a guy like Marc.

I hadn't seen it yet. Have just started watching though, and based on her behavior I don't know that she is very choosy and may have done it simply because he is a working comic.

I'm almost his age, so I can't speak to what her generation is into (their tastes and motives are a mystery to me, and one that makes me doubly glad I never had kids) but as a woman I've always found him physically attractive, and lots of girls and women like a man who is older in any case. If you meant his personality, I don't think the barista bunny decided to go home with him based on the content of his character.

Still watching, but I'm a lot more interested to see if he can hang onto Gina Gershon.

Her types usually go for gym rats or guys with lots of tattoos. Marc is technically famous so I suppose that counts for something, but he lives in LA which is full of "celebrities". Marc is a funny guy, but I seriously doubt that any young hot women would give him a second look, let alone willingly have sex with him on a regular bases no strings attached...

Guess it's different in LA. Based on what I often see here in the midatlantic, that hookup didn't look strange to me.

In a town like LA where there are literally hundreds of good looking men within a 5 mile radius, it seems odd that she would choose to have a casual sex relationship with a middle aged, short, Jewish guy who does a podcast from his garage in Highland Park.

No it isn't that he isn't "doabale" it is that all she wanted from him was meaningless sex and didn't even seem to care who he was.

reply

Yeah, it may not be common, but there are plenty of good looking young women who dig older dudes like Marc. He's marginally famous, has no kids, and possesses some of the fatherly qualities that many young women tend to gravitate toward in their early twenties. Or maybe she's just had her fill of self-absorbed d-bags (although, he certainly can be one at times)? You know he'll probably screw it up eventually, but it's not unbelievable to me.

Is that your photo? And you call yourself "hot"?

Maron seems to attract a pretty low-brow clientele.

Those kinds of relationships happen within recovery environments fairly regularly.
