Started awkward, found it's footing, then

kinda floundered again. Him hooking up with all the different women wasn't terribly funny or interesting. Made him look like a cad.

The first couple eps with the kid sidekick were funny, and I thought he had found his groove. Then the last few episodes... I'm not sure. I started to dislike the show for starting to think it was getting better each week then getting worse each week.

I agree with you. All in all it was pretty awful. He sort of went for a Louie vibe, but it was all too shallow to even be compared to that. It was basically Marc doing his podcast and meeting broken women. Very repetitive and his inability to act made me cringe a couple of times. Especially his line delivery is very one-note. He can only do the on-stage Marc or the "talking calmly and inquisitive" Marc, but nothing in between.
Then again, it would have been awkward if he hadn't played himself. I think this getting another season must be one of more eccentric decisions in recent TV history.

You really need to look at the directors, the Bobcat episodes were much worse than episodes not directed by Bobcat.

Marc can act, but seemingly only with a lot of help and a director that doesn't settle for crappy takes.

Only watched season 1 as that's all that's on Netflix.

But yeah, I have to agree. He has great chemistry with the sidekick kid. They REALLY need to have more of him. The kid is kind of the antithesis of Marc and they work so well together.

Him constantly fondling females that are easy tens is getting old and seems far fetched. I understand messing around with females that are half your age and that have daddy issues. I don't understand how all of them could be practically models. Also, the one female he hooks up with that's his age is freaking gorgeous.

On Louie, he hooks up with some some hot women too but it's not exclusively hot women. He also hooks up with women his age who are average looking. It's more bearable.

With Maron it's getting hard to believe and seems self-indulgent. But I do like the show.

So far, in S2 less of him hooking up and being a jerk. Follows more of his book.... I was really mad at him for dumping Maria Thayer. She is not a woman I would kick out of bed.
