Maron breaks some crazy new ground. Compelling. Funny, and sad.
Maron is no Louie, but Louie is no Maron.

The first two episodes were slightly better than all of season three. That is not a ringing endorsement I know...I feel like somewhere in between the end of season two and the start of season three a conscious effort was put forth to change the show from a comedy to a dramedy. The show just isn't as funny anymore, and when it is funny, it is usually when Mark's friend Dave is on screen. My vote would be to either have Dave on a lot more often, or cancel this show and give Dave his own show.
shareI see it much differently than you do. This is a show about more than funny, it never was. It's a cool show about a life, and other lives that orbit it.
If I felt as you do, I'd stop watching. Let's get Dave his own show for you, I'll watch that too.

Season 1 and 2 were great, 3 sucked and I voiced that pretty loudly but having seen the four episodes of this season....I really like it. It is a bit different but that's all right I suppose. It looks good, I enjoy it and look forward to the coming episodes.
shareThis is the sobriety show that the networks have always been afraid to do. Everything is real and straight out of a meeting. As Jack D. told me early on, there is a 2-step program for those who don't want to do the 12-step one. Step 1, it gets worse. Step 2, it gets worse than you can possibly imagine. Mark got a good look at what is still out there. Loved the "meeting" with the hooker.
My Chimp DNA seems to have lost its password temporarily. Sluggr-2
Season 4 is great! Not sure why I haven't felt the need to talk about it. I've always loved the show but this season my husband is digging it as much as I do.
