I have to say, I watch these supernatural films with low expectations because 9/10 of the ones I see, do nothing for me, other than mildly entertain. Didn't really care for The Conjuring or Sinister.
But this one was a nice surprise! Solid scares, very convincing actors and a brilliantly atmospheric score.
It's an 8/10 from me.
Agreed, this one was actually scary. Not much gets to me, but this made me shiver. It was really well made. And bloody hell what a bleak ending.

The Conjuring was well made and entertaining. I just didn't find it scary or effective in anyway. I thought Sinister was awful though. It started off creepy but then the little kid ghosts in bad make up showed and totally ruined it's creepiness. Plus, you could literally see where each jump scare was about to happen. (Well, I could anyway)
The Canal and The Babadook are better in every way.

Yes this movie got me too. I thought it was excellent with a good ending.... u no what I mean... lol good ad in not expecting it. Check out reminensence it looks good.
