I'm not happy about...

everyone has their own opinion of course, personally, i loved it, def one of the better horror movies in quite a while! great atmosphere and very creepy. there's been some great horror's so far this year, next on my list to see is the babadook, i saw someone compare it to this on here, they didn't like either, i hope that means it's good news for me seeing how much i enjoyed this! anyone have any recommendations for similar movies with a real eerie atmosphere?

I will disagree. I prefer slow-burning horror like this. There's too much reliance and quickness and cheap shock value these days, and that isn't truly scary. Good horror is all about the subtlety, build-up and small moments that build to a grand scare. That's why films like The Thing, The Changeling, The Haunting (the original, not the dreadful '99 remake) and arguably this film are so effective- they take their time.

Well I think it was brilliant and I thought it was one of the better horror films I've seen.

I feel exactly the same way. I liked the atmosphere but i feel like if the story was different with the same creepy FX then a better movie could have existed.

Im just not really into the played out "person is crazy and imagining ghost" storyline. It was a little tedious especially since its obvious he killed his wife from the very beginning.

Director should do another film like this only with strictly supernatural elements non of this psychological horror stuff. Id give it a watch.

Dude that's how I felt...what a waste of time!

I thought it was boring .... Until the end that is.
That ending was pretty crazy. I knew he had killed her all along but that scene in the canal was pretty intense.
