I liked the film,

but there were only five of us at a 7:30 screening. I think the 7.3 IMDB rating is about right, though the Rotten Tomatoes score of 48% is really low.

I liked this movie. I just refuse to go see Edge of Seventeen.

Just curious, austin. Why did you mention that movie, and are you referring to the 1998 version, or the 2016 version?

Because Edge of Seventeen seems like something rehashed from like 12 years ago. Like the script was written in 2004, with the writers having someone like Mandy Moore in mind, then the project got shelved and now in 2016, Hollywood has Hailee Steinfeld starring in the movie. Billy Lynn's is an adaptation of a successful novel with an original story. I prefer the original story.

2016 with Hailee Steinfeld, The Edge of Seventeen.

Edge of Seventeen is much better than Billy Lynn IMO

Well if you're into depressed teenagers. Then by all means.

I liked this film too. It's making me think. I just realized today (two days after I saw the movie) that the "halftime" in the title is not the football halftime, but rather Billy's time on leave. And he makes a conscious decision to "finish the game." It's a great portrayal of honor, humility, dedication and, yes, love.

I may see this film again in 120 fps -- while I still can.
