Can vampires have babies?

Undead and having babies? maybe i'm not catching on here, I thought if you was dead you couldn't have a baby..

Apparently they can in this series. Different movies featuring vampires come up with their own twists on vampire folklore, like Nosferatu (1922) setting up the idea that they can be destroyed by daylight or the idea that a vampire can be an actual love interest (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Bram Stoker's Dracula etc etc).

Or for a better example, there are myths that originate from South America of male vampires impregnating human women. Perhaps the film creators thought it'd be a nice twist of their own to reverse the genders (female vampire and male human) and still have it possible for there to be a baby.

It is weird, but it's all fiction, so the rules don't apply. Angel and Darla (both vampires) had a baby in the tv series Angel. That was weird and interesting all at the same time.

Depends most vampires can't breed with each other that's why they mate with humans to have dhampirs

As it is just a made up story with a made up characters and a made up situation, I don't think there is any reason to be upset or disturbed by the notion of the undead having the ability to produce a child. It's just a crazy story. Don't think about it and just enjoy it for what it is. And fun story.

There are basically 2 types of vampires in folklore:

1) Undead - These are vampires that are living dead. Basically humans brought back to life through some means that now need to suck the blood of the living to sustain their un-life, but are no actually alive themselves. Those they feed on receive the curse of the vampire and become vampires themselves.

2) Species - Unlike the 1st kind, these are simply a different species similar to humans. They are not dead, but still require the need to drink blood as that's what they're race feeds on. They are still alive though. Those they feed on become vampires as well, but it's biological, not magical, normally caused through a virus the vampires carry in their saliva that mutates the human they bit into a vampire.

The vampires in this movie are the 2nd kind.
