Pity they slipped up with the ending (Spoilers)
Them making the kid a vampire pretty much made the whole film pointless. They could have at least made him a dhampir (half-human / half-vampire) with enhanced strength and speed but no transformation abilities. I honestly thought he was one since that's the usual result of a human and a vampire having relations.
