Yes they are very playful and intimate for two grown up heterosexual guys. I'm not criticizing, I'm just saying. Lots of affection. Straight guys I know just aren't affectionate with each other in that way. It never occurs to each other to be in each other's face to playfully tease like that. They don't playfully tease each other about their appearance in that way.

When straight guys tease each other it's mean and hurtful because they like hurting each other and they seem to appreciate being hurt. Just my scientific observation. "Dude! You're bustin' mah balls! YukYukYuk!" " Aww, Man, he's bleedin'! HAHAHA!" They make sure to never hug softly or sit too close and always maintain a distance. No sitting close for no reason. Lol

Most of the teasing is coming from Nev who's supposedly straight. I don't know what Max is. Either way, I don't mind, it's cute.

But if my guy acted like that with even his best friend, I'd be a little concerned. Lol

No bitch, they are both obviously homo. This is America. Straight men don't act that way.

Would explain why most of the episodes revolve around LGBT issues.

I actually find them to be comfortable enough with their sexuality to sarcastically play up certain affections. They clearly are not gay.

to me, it looks like sometimes Max is uncomfortable with Nev's effimanate playfulness. It just seems like Nev is probably really like that (playful and always seems to not respect personal space and boundries) and Max is only going along with it for the sake of the cameras. Max comes across as way more mature IMO, and he sometimes seems annoyed with Nev, and only goes along with things because if he didn't it would make him look bad. It seems a bit lopsided to me.

Stereotypes are bad, IMO.

I've known playful/effeminate men who were very straight, or at least so deeply closeted that they were married and had kids and so forth and so on. These days, there's not as much stigma, so I don't see any reason for them to hide it if they were gay.

I just don't see it. Not manly men? Sure. Gay? I can't make that assessment.

No one really can, but people will speculate. A lot of women and men these days are still in the closet. Not because of society, but because of family issues. A lot of gays have spouses and significant others of the opposite sex to keep their families happy. Some times their significant others don't even know.

I know everyone's just having fun, but I'm thinking Nev and Max are probably getting tired of people always speculating about whether they are into each other. They've stated many times that they are both straight and are just friends. I must admit I was a bit disappointed to hear this, but maybe we should take their word for it and move on :)
