The guy turned out to be a really cool guy and seems like a nice guy but I was really suspicious at first.

That crossed my mind. However the Catfish producers from what I understand get consent from all parties beforehand (even if Nev and Max don't know...let's at least throw the show that bone lol)...so they would have known not to bring a dangerous stalker right up to her, thus I quelled my initial fear and sure enough it wasn't the case.
