Yet to see a female catfish that is actually legit?

There has been a few episodes where male catfishes have turned out to be real and legit.

I think im right in saying we have never seen a female catfish thats turned out to be real and resemble her pictures? Proof if ever you need it any hot girl that shows an interest in an average guy online is fake!

In one episode, a girl was using her own photos but manipulating them to make herself appear thinner. I think it was the Ashley and Mike episode, the one with the double catfish.

I remember that episode. She was sort of catfishing him too but seemed to think she was too hot for Mike when she saw the real him. Funniest thing ever. I can't remember what she said to him at one point but she basically showed her disinterest in him and I remember how sad he looked afterwards.

^ And now they're both dead :/

reply

Wow. I knew Mike died but I didn't know Ashley did too. I wish I didn't speak ill of the dead now but yeah I obviously preferred Mike in that episode. He seemed like a good guy. On an article after Mike died I read that Ashley said she and Mike were to meet again and they had basically begun a relationship, so she obviously changed her mind about him since that episode. Wonder if his death drove her to drugs? Who knows but R.I.P. to them both.

There was one this season. Season 5 episode 5. Ja'la. She was nuts. So if they are attractive then they are crazy haha

What about the wrestler dude and the wrestler girl. She was legit and super cute!

reply

Her name was Samm or something like that I think.

Jayla?

reply

Yeah, the wrestler chick looked exactly like her pictures. Too bad she friend zoned him afterwards. At least they got to wrestle each other once.

reply

Yes there was - I think her name was Sam and the guy was that young guy whose mother apparently wrote in for him (when in actual fact it was the Catfish who made the contact with Nev). The catch to this one was that she didn't want a full-on relationship like the kid wanted.

reply

Yeah, the interesting thing about Samm (the wrestler girl) is that, according to her, she actually applied to the show to find out if Steven was catfishing her, but the producers thought she would make a better catfish since her pictures "looked good enough to seem fake". So they switched it around and made up the story about his mom contacting the show, and it seems like their version in general is quite different from the truth.

Here's the interview:

What is a bit funny in this context is the comments during the investigation, like Max going: "Samm with two m's? There's a fake name if I ever heard one." And when they think her friend is the catfish, and they see her tweet about having trouble sleeping, Nev is like: "Yeah, because you're lying!"

There's a episode where the girl is a track star at a university in Wyoming and she was using her own pics and everything, she just had a boyfriend. Oops!

reply

Another one that was legit was the girl with the fake eyeball. She'd been using old pictures from when she was in high school, but those were her own photos.

If I remember correctly, the guy that the episode was for decided to split really fast after finding out and looked especially douchey for doing so.
