A fake show that aims to point out fake people? lol... k

Seriously. Can it be anymore obvious at how fake this TV show is. Outside of how damn stupid the people seem to be who are getting catfished. All the scenarios are just to outlandish that its pathetic how low MTV has gotten.

It does what a TV show is supposed to do. Capture eyeballs. Ever notice how they slow the show down to fill it with commercials?

This latest episode with the rapper Prophet was the most ludicrous I've seen yet. The idea that this guy had to go online to find a girl is BS.

The woman who allegedly catfished him was so overweight and unpleasant looking I can't imagine why she would agree to appear on camera.

Prophet must be struggling with his rapping career and looking for some exposure to agree to do this show. Nobody could be dumb enough to fall for this.

Living in Southern California(where many MTV shows tend to take place), I've known many people that end up being on these MTV reality shows. I was even offered a spot on Parental Control in like 2007. They were going to provide me a fake GF if I didn't have a real gf or a willing female friend. As far as MTV shows go, Catfish is the only one I can think of that's not entirely fake, and don't have people posting about their experience on the show being fake.
There's infinite Catfish stories out there, so they don't need to make up fake material.

As for the people being too stupid? Sometimes. But they know they're talking to a fake person, that's why they email the show. So I don't think they're that dumb, they're just naive and wait too long to get real answers. And the show is edited to be more entertaining, and to tell a story in a way that makes sense to the audience. Most these victims probably do tons of googling and reverse image searches to see if the person is fake. I bet tons of them already even confronted the person and showed them evidence that they're fake, but MTV doesn't show or reveal this because it kinda takes away from the mystery.

I can see why people think the show is fake. It's heavily edited and lots of stuff takes place off camera. The people that get on the show are genuine though. Most just want a free plane ticket imo.
