What a load of romanticized poppycock. Throw in a love story, mix in some white guys looking out for the black guys, and you have an ideal candidate for a girly movie.
How this escaped being labeled made for Tv beats me, half the budget must of been spent on grooming and the dry cleaning bill.

I also was pretty disappointed in the movie. It was overly romanticized and sappy. I knew at very beginning when the young boy went to slave market that it was going to be bad. The dialogue was terrible throughout the over. It was written like it was being turned in for a high school writing assignment, trying so hard to be all proper and professional and it came across as just fake.
