I'm really disappointed in the reviews that made it seem like more than it was, and the fact that this movie was made by the directors of Inside (which I still consider to be the best horror movie since Halloween '78).

The movie kicks off with a VERY intense introduction scene, and I seriously thought that this would be too much to handle, given that there are kids in the movie, the crazy intro, and Inside itself. Then after that, it just seems like I was watching E.T., with kids and a little John Williams kind of score throughout (that was very distracting from the mood that I wanted). After the halfway point of the movie (which is what the plot summary on IMDB covers), we get to the thick of the movie.

The cool looking villain? BUTT ASS NAKED throughout. He didn't even look strong, just kinda looked like a hairless Borat. There was no violence, just a bunch of cutaway moments over and over and over. A hilariously cheesy ending, and overall... I don't even know what to say. If it weren't for the legitimately intense intro, one boob, and the BUTT ASS NAKED villain, this movie could pass as one of those horror movies that little kids would think would be good (like IT, Children of the Corn, etc.). It was tame, it was dumb, and the villain was BUTT ASS NAKED.

And no, before you ask, I stopped comparing this to Inside about half an hour before the movie ended. It was just a legit bad movie.

The movie had a good intro and some other little good points and you still consider it as the worst movie you have seen? Pfft! Sorry, but you dont sound very believable judging by this alone. Worst movie ever has to have everything very negative.

Hardly the worst movie ever but very very bad indeed.

- The characters behave like idiots throughout, like more idiotic than in some known horror parodies!!

- The back story is weak, at best

- The main characters are not very sympathetic, nor are they interesting characters

- The main villain/monster/bad guy/perv does things only for the sake of being creepy with his Actions making no sense at all. Like disappearing and then reappearing just to give a creepy shot or scare. No consistency in his actions. If he's after the boys, why the f-ck not kill them right away but rather run around the house doing God knows what shenanigans and attacking other family members and stuff....it was seriously just random sh-t.

- The editing is bad

- Most main kills happen off Screen

- Ending is stupid

Yea, I think it's 1/10 for me.

The movie sucks, and i thought the cops in "inside" were stupids. this film is a piece of garbage.

It was not bad,but this was definetely weaker than Inside and Livid.

Hmmm that makes me nervous because I thought livide was terrible.

i agree that this movie was VERY VERY disappointing.

i just watched the movie and it kind of sucked. it's starting to look more and more like Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo are one hit wonders. INSIDE was fantastic. LIVID was kind of good. each film they've done has gotten worse and worse. AMONG THE LIVING was so *beep* frustrating because

1. most of the kills happen off screen
2. the characters do THE most idiotic cliche horror movie moves that i've seen in any film in a while.
3. the editing (especially in the "big" finale) is atrocious. i can't believe this movie is from the same team who gave us INSIDE. i think people should keep expectations for this TCM prequel in check.

No violence? Did you see a cut version or something? The face slashing in the end was one of the goriest scenes I've ever seen.
