deserves a score higher than 5.1, man.
I really, really enjoyed this movie, and actually consider it the 2nd best of the series right behind PA 2. I think PA:TMO was a breath of fresh air in the franchise and a much better entry than either 3 or 4.
I liked most of the scares and, mainly, how the demon or evil entity was really not kidding this time. No psychological terror or not much of tension buildup, but just showing what it came for without wasting time. Demons got a bit busier this time lol. The fact that the blessing/cleansing ritual didn't seem to work out very well, much less than in previous entries, was eerie to, meaning that the characters were way more screwed.
I also liked the actors and characters as well, thought Jesse and, mainly, Hector, were charismatic, funny and somewhat believable, especially Hector in the last scenes where he is alone in the witch's house/HQ. Shifting the entry towards hispanic culture was a nice addition as well.
I also praised the creepy moments, especially the scenes in the basement with the tarps hiding whatever was after the characters. The demon communicating through the Simon toy was a really nice touch as well, an interesting twist on the well-known Ouija board.
This movie is not the next Rosemary's Baby, obviously, I expected the regular cliches to be present, but still, It was a very decent entry for the series. I would give a 8.5 score to PA:TMO
