Chadwick Boseman was CHEATED

He gave a stand-out performance as James Brown -- got the voice down, got his dance moves down to re-create his performances seamlessly, and not even a nod from the Golden Globes. This is one of the best bio-pics EVER, and will probably be ignored at the Academy Awards, also. Totally unfair and just b.s., because this actor deserved the nomination for Best Actor.

I agree. I'm stunned this film got nothing. I thought it was amazing.

"Oh, you're going to jibber jabber about jibber jabber."

reply

I totally agree got robbed is an understatement

reply

yall sayin he was robbed and probably didnt even see the best actor nominees performances

reply

Yup - easily should have been nominated for some awards.

If anything, it was the script that kept him from doing more with the character, but I Thought he was amazing.

He was great as Jackie Robinson...and phenominal in this....and they made a big deal about the guy who played Ray Charles...in fact he won the Oscar I think...THIS WAS A MORE INVOLVED PORTRAYAL...he was cheated big time

Agreed. Far superior to Foxx's performance as Ray Charles.

reply

Delusion...Jamie was far superior in Ray. You seriously dont know good acting or accurate spelling. What the hell is "phenominal"?

reply

I thought James as a little kid stole the show.

ITA!

Guess the life of James Brown was too ethnic for people to appreciate. He wasn't a victim. He was his own man. He was brilliant in his music and showmanship, but he developed a persona that he used like armor. He was egoistic and people like that, are not very likable. I find that the Academy tends to go for black characters that evoke a kind of sympathy they are comfortable with. James Brown was irreverent and as such would be considered 'arrogant.' That word is a euphemism for 'uppity Negro,' i.e., a black person who doesn't know his place.

But yes, Boseman was cheated. He was outstanding. But he's talented and will be around for awhile.

I agree....!!
