Toby's true form

Am I the only one who loved his reveal?
At first he manifests as diffused tendrils of dark energy floating around, which later coalesce into a very large cloud capable of interacting with the environment and assuming a vaguely human-shaped form. The cloud becomes more and more dense until it becomes a dark Humanoid Abomination with a terrifying face about 2 meters tall.

It kept true to his appearance as described by Kristi tall and old like grandma yet also with his shape shifting abilities, though I noticed he didn't have hooves as observed in the footprints in PA 1, did we ever see his feet? it was hard to tell because the lower half of him was covered up by the black CGI stuff, it still worked though.

If you weren't happy with Toby's true form, what do you think he should of looked like?

reply

Honestly, it was anti-climatic.

But then again, we've been waiting how many movies to get a glimpse?

reply

I just thought it was cool how he was as tall as the Christmas tree, stumbling towards the family with his claws out while covered in the sheets, the film makers did at least kept true to his nature by giving him a form that represented his iconic 'stomping' on floors and dragging people out of rooms.

It's also ironic how the family was able to physically hurt Toby, that's something that's never been seen before, he's first shown as this malevolent force of evil that feeds on your fear and almost unstoppable, but his true weakness was holy water, and of course the 'key of Solomon' trap that prevented him from going wherever he wanted, but you'd also need the spirit camera to actually see where he goes.

What did you imagine his true form to look like before the Ghost Dimension?

I really didn't even know what to imagine Toby as. The only clue as to what he looked like that I loved were the footprints from the first movie. Everything after that confused my thoughts as he constantly changed his form one way or another. They did at least relate to the teeth. I mean, the teeth for every possession, minus Jesse, looked pretty much the same.

But all in all, I was satisfied with the result we got.

I do think franchise-wise, the only thing I didn't like out of all the movies were things that weren't accounted for. But then again I guess we'll always be left in mystery.

I agree 100%

Yeah, but I kinda like that not everything was answered, it gives it that same 'Mystery' feeling that the other endings had, it wouldn't be Paranormal Activity without it, right?
