No Christoper Landon? Anyone know why?

I rather enjoyed this movie; I'm a massive fan of the series and have particularly enjoyed the last 3 movies. Though I liked the movie, particularly for the characters, I did think it was a strange conclusion to the series (particularly in missing Katie as you guys have said).

I can't help but feel that this has something to do with the noteable absence of Christoper Landon on story or screenplay duties. I feel as though he has spent time crafting the story and his absence may have led to the strange conclusion.

If anyone knows why this happened, I'm really interested!

I'm guessing because since he made TMOs he's been making Scouts guide to a zombie apocalypse, so he's been tied up elsewhere. I personally think this film would have benefited his inclusion.

I saw the trailer for Scout's Guide and it looked pretty awesome in my opinion. Shame he was unable to be involved with Ghost Dimension.

I'll have to check it out! I really like Disturbia and I love what he did with the third and fourth Paranormal Activity movies. I understand that they're a bit silly, but I think they're true underrated horror classics; the characters are wonderful and really engaging.

PA3 is my absolute favourite film of the franchise - I loved the origin story and the character development. I think we'd be talking about a far superior movie if he'd been available for Ghost Dimension especially as the new movie links heavily to it.

Same, what a movie! Dennis and Julie's relationship is one of my favourites ever and their chemistry is perfect! The character development is so well done and thus, the scares are a lot more effective. Glad to have another fan of the film on here, not enough people love and appreciate that movie! Totally agree on Landon's input improving this, as we've discussed elsewhere.

Right, that makes a lot of sense! I should have checked up on his latest works to be honest but it just struck me as odd; thank you for the enlightening information! I agree, he has a lot of naysayers and fairly enough, a lot of the criticisms are probably viable, but personally I liked what he did with the franchise and think he should have totally been the man to wrap it up. Even if people don't like what he did, it seems ridiculous to me to get someone else to tie up a story by someone other than themselves. Regardless, I'm sure he did have some input!

He was the maker of the whole Mythology, in PA1, PA2, PA3, PA4, EVEN TMO still made sense and had no issues, right up until Ghost Dimension... they chose the series's editor to be it's director, bad move, very very bad move, it explains everything, doesn't it?

The mythology from PA3 in the Ghost Dimension held promise, but the time travel failure just... no, even TMO pulled it off better.
