Why didn't they
move her out of her damned bedroom already?! And don't ASK her to Please, please come downstairs and play, sweetie - drag her argumentative little butt out of there!
But maybe that would be non-PC these days.

This sounds 'logical' on paper, but like what Katie said in the first film.
"It can go wherever it wants and do whatever it wants."
The best they could only do was keep her close by, which was what the mum tried to do when she slept next to her daughter's bedside, but Toby has the tendency of drawing attention to other 'places'
But these people didn't know this, did they?
shareThe Director was the editor for the series, He'd HAD to know this.
shareThat could be said of any action or inaction in any movie: because the director knew it would/wouldn't work. I'm asking how it is that the *characters*, who know none of the "lore," didn't do what seemed to be the obvious thing.
(Not trying to be argumentative.)
Well, it's not as obvious as it sounds, they are dealing with Paranormal forces that are still unknown to the real world, and there are no guarantees that it would be that simple.
They could of cleaned the 'symbols' off of Leila's bedroom, but they probably just didn't think it would of helped or they would of still remained because the Portal was already open the second the symbols were drawn.
They did leave the house but it wasn't a problem for Toby, he just simply brought Leila back to him, he clearly wasn't going to let them win, which I also think is why he put up more of a fight against the family because this would be the conclusion of his plans.
And not to mention the fact that Toby was able to literally see the future as he was able to predict the birth of Hunter and Leila at the beginning of the movie, even though it was 1992, and with the aid of Katie and Kristi, he was sent to the future where Leila already exists and has moved into the house constructed on top of the ruins of Katie and Kristi's old house, the thing that was happening to them was inevitable the second Hunter and Leila were born.
(Oh I know, just discussion.)
because this movie is ridiculous and none of it really makes sense. it's poorly put together. don't even try figure it out.. it's not worth it. i love fantasy stuff but when they cant even put it together in a away the audience thinks its logical and even makes sense, then it just looks and sounds ridiculous and i realize im watching a stupid horror film about stuff that isnt real anyway. but when horror films are made really well and MAKE SENSE, it draws me in, creeps me out, makes me think. and i like it. this just frustrated me and made me ask all sorts of questions in the end because its not put together well and ultimately makes no sense. youll have questions like you have all over the place. i had a question like this plus 12 more and many other people have many questions because they need to just stop making these films and think of something different. its getting absurd.
shareYeah, I retract everything I said, it is no longer canon in my eyes, I mean technically it isn't canon, reasons?
No Katie
Ending that made NO sense
No mentioning of past Mythology that was set up in the previous films that includes Lois making the deal with Toby or Toby needing Hunter to sacrifice Alex who was a virgin to prove himself to him
No Ali Rey who was practically the only one who tried to investigate the hauntings, her and Kristi but still, shouldn't she of been there to as one of the main characters?
Many questions that haven't been answered
Was nothing like Paranormal Activity, didn't even had the same ominous atmosphere like Toby's footsteps, moving objects in the kitchen, Toby's messages scratched into walls like when Kristi was possessed in 2
Not the same Director and simply had NO clue about the Mythology
