Why isn't Katie Featherston in it?

She has appeared in all the others, why not this one?
Seems odd. did she fall out with Oren Peli?!

reply

She's in the opening scene turning off the camera. (Final scene of the Marked Ones).

reply

the opening scene was from the third movie. not the marked ones.

reply

The story used to be about her and her family, this movie was more about toby.

reply

Which is complete *beep*

Didn't the series revolve around Katie and her experiences? Screw Toby.

reply

Indeed, but then Marked Ones came out (probably as filler because they didn’t have a real one ready for 2014), and it introduced the notion of a global coven and a greater conspiracy, so it was no longer about the Rey family’s curse, but a bigger plot.

This is my main question as well. Anyone know?

Katie Featherston fought with the production of The Ghost Dimension,

...Probably because it was not the conclusion and closure that was originally promised
for us. :P

reply

So, what was the conclusion and closure originally promised?

reply

Well, based on the actual Mythology that we actually received from the past films, we can assume The Marked Ones was going to be a major part of the finale, things like the witches and possessed males all over the world, Time portals that lead to 'unholy' destinations like Katie and Micah's house at the last night, and we know Hunter was a very valuable part of the whole plan, possibly his body would be the vessel for Toby? that's what the whole direction for the whole series seemed to be leaning towards at least.

reply

She probably wasn't in it for a more practical reason than character involvement. Her entire career is based on this series, and all she really did was have short cameos. The last thing she would have wanted was to be forever known as possessed Paranormal Activity woman.
Her role wasn't necessary to this movie anyway. It was all about the kids....what young Katie and Kristy went through, and why Hunter and the kid from this movie were important. Adult Katie was mainly around until the moment when Hunter was ready for the coven's end game. Once he gained power, he didn't need Aunt Katie around.

Even so, she was a very important piece of the franchise, I mean, it was her story before all the Mythology came about, believe me, had it all went well, she wouldn't of missed being on the big screen for the world, but it turned out to be a train wreck, and she just couldn't be around to see their name tarnished, something that shouldn't of happened yet was going to happen either way, sad.

Well, the Covens end game was a total time paradox, so that was a bust.

Couldn't Toby of gained human form during present time? instead of all these plot-holes arising with what happened in 1992, it was a complete sham when you look at the big picture and how it relates to the previous films, there was really no need to have Katie and Kristi send Toby from their time to Leila's time, could of happened as it did but without the time travel, right? Or have Toby use Hunter as his vessel to bring destruction to the World.

But nonetheless, this came out a long time after the others, it still wouldn't of been able to keep its 'feel' intact after years.
