Is the Toby in this movie different to the Toby from the previous films?

The fact that Toby was sent from 1992 to 2013, after Hunter was possessed and Alex was killed, does this mean that there are two different Toby's in the world, now? one human and one non-human? And perhaps the human Toby has been here the whole time somehow and is helping non-human Toby with his plans? I don't know, didn't really explain everything.

But isn't that technically what has happened because the Toby in 1992 is sent to a different timeline known as 2013 where the Fleeges have settled in their home and it's Christmas year, so that Toby in 1992 who is helping the girls make a doorway through time, and the Toby in 2006-2011 is a completely different Toby?
