What could have made this one work! (Spoilers!!!!)

OK, I know that there is a lot of people and i do mean a lot of people who were highly disappointed in this film ... including myself. I feel the idea was very good just very poorly executed big big time! I'mean first of all there's no adult Katie and she is and has been the center of this franchise just as much as tobi, so that's the first place they dropped the ball. Secondly we see waaaay to much of tobi. Correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't not being able to see him the reason the movies were scary? It's like insidious two.. we seen way too much of Bogul and that made him less scarier each time he popped up on the screen. And why the hell were there so many kidnapped and missing little boys if all he needed was a little girl and hunter this entire time?! His end game was to become human ? In 1988? I believe there could've been three simple things that would have made this film 100x better..

1. Have adult katie appear!
A. Even if it was just her selling them the house in the beginning but she needed to make an appearance at some point.

2. Stop showing me so much of tobi!
A. The 3-d still could have been used for things flying at the screen or only when the special camera is being used.

3. Have kristie appear at the very end during the climax.
A. Most of us if not all believe she died at the end of the second one, but what if she didn't and has been just been behind the scenes this entire time! what mind trip that would have been right ? I would have had her appear in the house from PA3 at the end when the mom and little girl go through the portal.

Those 3 things would have made a big difference.. any questions or comments feel free. Im out!

Although I also think Kristi died at the end of PA2, there's a slight chance she didn't.

So, I agree with you and think having Katie and Kristi walk in together at some point would have been very cool and a nice touch, given that this is supposedly the last of the series.

OTOH, it would also have reminded the audience of how much better the early films were, so maybe not having Katie - or Kristi, although Katie has been the linking thread throughout - wasn't such a bad idea.

I just really feel there was something missing from the movie.. I believe and stand by that adding her in would have been a crazy mind trip..

I know, the plot was a huge fail, Toby being human in 1992 creates a time paradox that prevents him from haunting Kristi and Katie in 2006 as Toby was in spirit form during then.

Katie's absence was just a big mistake, though I heard she wasn't there due to fighting with the Ghost Dimension production.

The title was just a epic fail and turns the franchise into a parody, like something out of Sharknado, they were probably trying to copy The Marked Ones which was 10x a continuation, let alone 'finale' this was, though you gotta admit it was pretty pathetic with the bad acting, cliché Antichrist plot elements, stupid character decisions, out of place 3D gimmick, terrible CGI and lazy uncreative scares.

I hope they reboot this 'mess' and team up with Blumhouse, Henry Joost, Ariel Sculmen and Chris Landon, do they honestly see what resulted as a huge success? no, it won't be remembered for anything other than being the downfall of Paranormal Activity, and made the worst Boxoffice ratings, shouldn't even exist but it does.

I'm pretty sure Kristi after Katie 'falcon punched' her into the wall was either dead or due to no immediate medical attention died, not to mention it was said before the credits that Ali found their 'bodies' so having her reappear would not be possible.

I agree Katie should have been in this! She's been in every single movie. Maybe bring Ali back 2 she gives advice in The Marked Ones but that's it. Makes you think she sort of gave up trying to find Katie and Hunter. But here's 1 thing I think they cold have axed. Did they really need to show us scenes from part 3 that we've already seen? Julie and Dennis having sex, Julie in the kitchen, etc. We've already seen that and that did nothing for me than make the film run 1 minute longer.

That was my big thing about part 3 other than the very beginning when Katie drops off the tapes. It cuts right to a TV and a video being put in and that's it, "somebody" is playing us these home movies but it's never established who. I loved part 3 don't get me wrong but that always left me wondering.

Yeah, Ali also played a big role in the franchise, she's the only survivor of the Rey family incident and on the hunt for her little brother and aunt.

Wait, what do you mean 'already seen'? I'm a bit confused by that, the sex tape wasn't extra unrated material if that's what you were suggesting, it's in the actual movie itself, and it wouldn't be considered 'already seen' when your first seeing the movie, Yeah I'm confused, Ha ha.

I think that scene was representing that the Coven has gotten hold of the tapes and is playing them all the way through, maybe even with the time portals they were able to edit all the footage from every film, and thus, Paranormal Activity is turned into a movie.

That actually gives it another realism factor because you just assume there's no reason for who's watching the tapes, are the tapes being watched or is there no particular person in possession of these tapes at all and it's just like normal movies shot by every angle without a camera, but then again the genre is 'Found Footage' so that means it literally is found footage, turns out the tapes are in fact being watched by the Coven, the entire series is a collection of video tapes, we the audience are watching them as movies, but the Witches are watching these within the movie, kinda like they gave us the movie, weird, right?

The part where the 2 brothers find those VHS tapes. They play a few but the tapes they play are scenes/clips from Paranormal Activity 3. But anyone who has seen Part 3 has already watched those clips, get what I'm saying? Why play us the audience footage that we've already seen 3 movies prior?

reply

Ohhh, I thought you meant PA3 as a whole, not PA GD.

I was actually hoping that they'd see the scarier stuff like Katie being lifted up into the air by Toby or Randy being scratched, the Kitchen scene with Julie.

True, could of shown us extended footage through the tapes, but I guess it was to relay the events to the Audience, but nonetheless it was very... very... bad. Ha ha.
