Producers said last film in particular saga, not last PA
Jason Blum said in an interview that this is the last PA in this particular saga, but he carefully chose his words as to allude this was not the end of the paranormal activity films.

http://collider.com/paranormal-activity-5-jason-blum-talks-wrapping-up-the-franchise/ I'm not seeing that in this interview.
shareI remember reading it somewhere too. In this video he says "in this particular series" which made me think they might branch to a different "paranormal" series or something (like Series 2??). Or that they plan to continue with spinoffs like Marked Ones.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's more.
I'd enjoy more spinoffs, but I'd also enjoy a Paranormal Activity 6. This one didn't end it for me.
shareI haven't seen it yet, but yeah from the sounds of things, I would rather they make another one and actually wrap things up.
shareI don't think this one was good enough for another movie... Me personally, this one was a bridge and they screwed it up now all my faith in them and their abilities are gone.

I think this would be a very smart idea....I do enjoy these films but I'm tired of it circling around the same story over and over...All the films I've seen circle around that grandmother making a deal with satan in one form or another. I think going into a new story would get more people interested
shareJason Blum can choose his words as carefully as possible to leave room for Paranormal Activity sequel.
BUT the box office for The Ghost Dimension sure said this is the last Paranormal Activity.
There. It's on the Internet. Thus it's official
1600 screens vs the 3000+ the top five were shown on. The series still has a following but a long break won't hurt.
sharejudging by the score on this 'film' even sheep get sick of eating out of the same trough too often
shareTo be honest I think we need a remake, rather than a sequel... and have it directed by
Chris B Sanders with leading actress Katie Featherston, because this one did NOT tie up the loose ends in a logical way, just a wacky time travel ending that had no thought put into it - didn't touch on any of the classic Mythology, no cameos of Katie Featherston, Ali Rey, no relation to The Marked Ones, it was just one giant mess, but if a sequel to... this is directed by Chris Sanders and shows us what happened elsewhere with Ali and Katie, or even the Marked Ones, then I'll be happy, until then, we haven't gotten true closure.
I completely agree. They need to pretend like this sequel didn't happen and just move on with the series. It didn't answer anything but more importantly I really wasn't entertained. I liked the concept of the ghost cam but the cgi was pretty poorly executed and there really wasn't anything memorable. It doesn't feel like it belonged.

Yeah, like The Blair Witch project 3 ignoring TBWP 2, I agree 100% with everything.
It was more of a fan made creation than anything, and technically the original Director didn't direct it, so, this is technically true.
