I notice this "style" is popping up in a lot of tv/movies. Personally, besides the "I know right?" and "really!" I haven't noticed many americans talking like they do in movies.
The super-fast banter, jokes about porn, the "did you see that?" style of talking, like everyone in their 30s are still in high school. This is just Hollywood, right?

shareI don't know but it's really distracting. The more I listened to Bill and Ted, the faster I realised what garbage this sequel is. Gone is the realistic dialogue of PA1-3.
shareNobody talks like the dialogue in this movie. It's bad writing, helped by a healthy dose of mediocre acting.
You summed it up perfectly in my opinion.
I wonder if the actors read line for line from the script or it was a case of "this is what is happening now, react to it by adlibbing, but make sure you say something about such and such". I would have done the latter as a director, maybe they did, who knows.
I heard that was the case with Paranormal Activity 4.
