Guaranteed to fail
The release date is the same for Fantastic 4 so there's no way it'll make any money unless they change the release date.

shareBecause people are allowed to go to only one movie a year?
shareFantastic 4 is going to crush it at the box office, not saying they can only go to 1 movie, I'm just saying it won't do nearly as well as it would a few weeks later.
shareThis is a reboot of Fantastic Four you're talking about. Anticipation is not high. This movie should do fine in comparison.
"Visions are worth fighting for. Why spend your life making someone else's dreams?"
Its fantastic 4 so of course it'll make at least 100+ million opening weekend regardless if its a reboot or not
shareI think it'll do well but 100+ opening weekend? Thats wishful thinking, people haven't forgot how much the last ones sucked. Also mission impossible comes out a week before and looks awesome. People will still be seeing that after Im sure it get great word of mouth. Finally tho some people just want a comedy over superheros so this movie will be fine. Thay already pussied out with a PG-13 rating to make sure it makes money. I prefer Zack gal in R rated coms personally.
shareWow you really have your finger on the pulse of the movie viewer. The Fantastic Four hasn't even grossed $60 million in the U.S. in a month and a half and took 3 weeks to hit $100 million world wide. It looks like you are no mastermind sir.
shareHindsight makes this thread one of the funniest things I've read in ages!

shareWow; I was just poking around after seeing the Masterminds trailer for the first time. All I can say is "oops."

I have meddled with the primal forces of nature and I will atone.
These kind of statements make no sense at all... the number of "hit movies" released in a particular week has NOTHING TO DO WITH how many movies I see. If there are 10 great movies released, I'll see them... if there is only one, I'll see that one. For those 10, I won't see them all in that first week but I will see them. You do know that good movies stay in theaters for several weeks, don't you? Sometimes there are still showing a few months later. Plenty of time to see them all.
Your statement has no logic... other than that's what all the critics say & think and all the movie review websites and magazines also seem to think... I've never met another living person who enjoys movies who will only see one movie of several just because they open the same weekend.
There is so much bad buzz around F4, especially given the tales of the director's issues and how he was fired from his STAR WARS gig for what happened here.
"I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."
Let's all agree to flood Mastermind theater screenings to make Fantastic 4 bomb.
shareFantastic 4 will suck big time and nobody is going to watch that piece of crap.
shareI notice this was posted in 2015. This movie was delayed? How come?
shareI assume they wanted to release it after Ghostbusters' success. But it failed, then they released it anyway LOL
shareNo, this was supposed to come out last year but then Relativity Studios filed for bankruptcy. Now that they have just recovered from bankruptcy, they are releasing a few of their films they had to shelf (The Disappointments Room, Masterminds, Kidnap). Some of their movies were auctioned off and were eventually released by other companies (Jane Got a Gun, Hillsong: Let Hope Rise). However, some of them were not sold and Relativity hopes to release them in the future (Before I Wake, Solace, Fallen).
shareOP was right. It flopped at the box office.
It's that man again!!
