My many issues with the continuity.

Presumably these take place all around America and the world....who is this secret organization that is picking up all of these tapes? WHY when you watch the tapes you suddenly "die" or want to kill yourself? I recall hearing that kid saying in the tape that when you watch them in a certain order, he was saying about how something happens?

Also, is it possible that demon child minotaur looking thing is the causing all of these incidents? (presuming that was chronologically the first tape, which I THINK it was)

And what about the zombie infestation? That had to have gotten stopped eventually, right? It's not like that would have just kept going...

I find the director and writers are not thinking about the continuity in these tapes, which annoys me. It was mainly V/H/S 2 which screwed a lot of this up, since pretty much all of the V/H/S 1 stories were not impactful to more than a small group of people, whereas every story except the first in V/H/S 2 was apocalyptic scale.

I hope most of these questions get answered in V/H/S 3.

VHS 1 was good. VHS 2 was not. Simples.

Pretty much. Except the first story about the eye camera was amazing, I'll won't lie. It was actually scary, unlike every other story

There is no continuity.

The slumber party was not apocalyptic.

You're over thinking it. It's just a series of horror stories.

Does IMDB hate apostrophes?

I wish they would do a prequel that would explain this stuff. If you look at the first movie when the guys are in the basement, you can see that there are small old film canisters mixed in with the vhs tapes. Meaning that someone might have been transferring old film on vhs. Trying to do the same as the guy from part 2. Putting them in a certain order. If they do a prequel they can have someone forced to watch various film reels that have strange stories in them and explain why it's being done. As time goes on these reels get transferred to vhs and then to the internet as seen in part 3.

gordaton why does there need to be continuity with the tapes? I don't get what you are getting at. The point of this movie was just that if you watched too many of these tapes somehow it disturbs certain people enough that they will kill themselves. Is there a subliminal message that is repeated in the tapes that we can't pick up but the victims do? Maybe and that is why they kill themselves. Anyway I have to say that these events in these movies are interesting and funny at times and I enjoyed this much better than the latest release. It would be nice though to see these guys come out with something that doesn't have nudity or sex in it so a younger audience that wants to get scared can watch it. I surely wouldn't let my son or daughter see these for that reason.

The graphic violence wouldn't deter you from showing your kids these films, at all?
