What's wrong with how he's holding it?
He's holding it way too low on the grip, like someone who has never actually shot a pistol before, and/or someone who has never been shown how to hold one properly. See the ~1" gap between the top of his hand and the grip tang of the pistol? His hand should be up against the bottom of that tang, like so:

In fact, a common modification to various types of pistols (especially 1911s) is to alter or replace the grip tang in order to allow for an even higher grip than the original grip tang allows for.
