Did he really need to taste the yogurt?

The cup was in the trash, so there were probably flies and insects in there, as well as other pieces of germy garbage. Plus, Mills daughter drank from the cup (more germs), and the yogurt, being perishable, likely started turning bad by the time Whitaker finds it.

In addition, the note already indicated that Byran drugged it. Why, therefore, does Whitaker feel it necessary to confirm that it was drugged?

At worse, he could have just sniffed it, not tasted it.

Plus if the Cop could taste something in the yogurt why didn't Kim?

Kim probably did taste something in the yogurt, but she knew it was from her dad. Remember the note on the cup?

He just likes the peach flava.

That's a good question, but an even better one is why he needed to drug it in the first place. What was the point? To make her step into a restroom? He could have told her to chug a bottle of water for the same result.

~After enjoying that movie, I figured I would drop by IMDB to read about its problems.

He wanted to taste her yogurt.
