Lenore leaves Brian again?!

Didn't that already happen on Taken 2? Why did they have the same thing happen on Taken 3? Was there a reason for this? I started watching the movie partway through so maybe I missed it but I was thinking "is this deja vu?"

They never actually got back together after Taken 2. The whole thing was very weird, considering I think 3 was supposed to take place a few years after 2, but they were in the same exact spot they were at the end of 2, relationship-wise.
