Quick scene cuts were nauseating
I get that Liam is getting old in the fight scenes and they try the quick scene takes but even the action shots driving the police car were choppy. Shaky cam at its worst.

shareThat they were. Absolutely hate directors who do that. Is like they're trying to hide their lack of ability.
My people skills are fine. It's my tolerance of morons that needs work.
Yes it was nauseating. Either a horrible director or editor or both. Overall I thought the script wasn't all that bad.
shareAgreed. it's like it was cut with a confused chainsaw. Too fast to comprehend what was going on, and needlessly. I felt like I was having a seizure. You can have fast cutting but still be elegant in how it tells the story, Speed, Raiders of the Lost Ark, JFK, Fast and Furious 6 and Run Lola Run are examples. This was just a mess, and I loved the first film.
It's a pathetic (and yes, nauseating) way to shoot a action sequence. It interrupts the flow and it gets hard to tell what's going on. I think it's a weak directors way of covering up the inability to direct convincing action.
I got totally lost when the cop car he was driving.........ummmmm.......went down into the building and exploded? Now sure what happened there.
I agree, it was the worst editing I can remember. Almost like they just took a bunch of scenes and had the computer mix them together and make every individual scene 1.5 seconds.
shareEven if you shut off your brain and decide to tune in for the fights and action scenes, I mean how the eff can anyone justifying sitting through that movie and thinking that was quality action direction? At this point, I hold Liam equally responsible for making this slop.
shareCouldn't agree more. The film is edited in such a heavy-handed way, i don't think i've ever seen anything like it
The director/editor were clearly aiming for a specific style but it's almost unwatchable. The action scenes are cut in such a jumpy way, you feel like you're watching the film on fast-forward
It's the director's fault he used the same technique in the 2nd film, made them both unwatchable, I gave them both 3/10. Even in the non-fighting scenes the cuts were distracting, people having a conversation and you have to show 2/3 different takes of the same scene! Horrible and lazy film making, which is getting to be the norm these days.
shareThis is usually a sign of either incompetent director or a bad choreographer.
