I thought the reason we all loved him was because he was a good guy. But now he's beating up cops and shooting innocent people just doing their jobs. So he's turned into a bad guy, in my opinion, and lost his appeal. Totally. Surely they don't expect us to keep rooting for this guy...

I thought for sure the cops at the end were going to try something wicked... because they had this creepy look on their face when Neeson was talking to Whittaker.

Which innocent people did he shoot? He didn't kill any of the cops. The rest of the people he killed were Russian mafia folks.

If he let them bring him in,and put his faith in pleading his innocence and them keeping on investigating what looked like an open and shut case to them, he would have gotten railroaded exactly as the bad guys planned.
