Question about the ending (kinda spoil-ish)

So, he talks to his dad as his dad is about to leave...to be in the car crash that kills him.

David held up his dad for quite the number of seconds, could it be possible because of that...his father never got into the car accident? I mean, car accidents are so wild because its literally, wrong place/wrong time, but now the moment he left had been changed wouldn't the car he crashed into or whatever be in a different place?

I hate to go all Dr Who here (lol) but was his father's death noted as some kinda 'fixed' point that had to happen/could not be changed?

This isn't really a question I suppose, maybe more like a...what do you think of this guys? heh.

In order for him to have found the time travel device in the first place, his father had to have died. So it's likely a fixed loop where his going back in time and hugging his dad is the delay that caused the accident in the first place. After all, he saw himself in the video which makes him think time travel is possible. So we know he was already in the past and it's logical to saw he ran into his father at that time.

The only issue is the 2nd camera where if they watch it and decide not to time travel it could break the loop. Love paradoxes.

But because they traveled in the first place, they will always continue to do so.

Ahhhh, okay. That makes sense.

Jesh, you think I've watch enough Dr Who/Bill and Ted/Terminator movies to understand time travel better heh.

Thanks :)

I don't think that after meeting his dad and burning all the plans and device, that travel would be possible again....therefore, they would not see himself in the mirror on film. Also, technically speaking, he should not have had the original camera with him at the end, because they would never have time traveled. As soon as he destroyed everything, none of it was now possible....and even if your argument is that he was still there to "Talk to his dad and destroy the device, he would still be in the mirror", but they would have no possible way to understand how and why he was on the film....mind you, his shirt would not be ruined (Like in the mirror) as it only occurred due to the experiment. No repeating paradox would occur.
