One issue I've been thinking about

Main guy screws things up with the girl.

Main guy goes back to "redo" his chance with the girl.

But as we know, seeing yourself risks getting sucked into the "feedback loop" and dying/disappearing/whatever happened to Jessie.

So how does he main character hook up with Jessie when he goes back without dying? The others helped the other guy pass his test by having help to not cause a "feedback loop" so how did David do it alone?

Yup. I came here to post the exact same thing. It bugged me for the rest of the movie. Where was his doppelganger?

Not to mention that after he kisses her, when does he depart and let his prude self take the wheel again? Prude self would have returned to the future with the rest of the group. Kisser self would have returned separately. Sometime back in the present, prude self is shocked when Jessie walks into his room only in a towel and they already had sex. So kisser self also managed to keep prude self out of the way for the night when that happened. So kisser self not only jumped back to the concert, he also jumped back to shortly after their return. We never see him return to the time he departed. It seems that we just move forward with "no longer prude self".

I think I understand the problem. We are to assume that when they jump back to the future that the reassume the bodies of the old self they left behind that progressed through time normally. But why would we assume that? If you travel back and forward again, haven't you made a copy of yourself? Now I know some time travel movies address this by assuming, say in the example of this case, that prude self would also jump back again to the concert for his second trip. But in this case he does not need to because the missed kiss issue was fixed. The loop was closed. Seems that would create a copy. I think I'm thinking about this too much!
