When will this found footage crap end...

So many found footage films.... so much crap.... the tropes are now dull, the films have descended into farcical rehashes

We need someone to make the self-referential irony filmed spoof and then hopefully the era of found footage will end...

PLEASE

I managed 5 minutes and then turned it off. Shaky hand held poor quality film is a cop out. It ruins what could have been a great film. I guess I'll never know...

Probably around the same time that people quit bitching about them. Short answer, never.

Utah! Get me two.

When will people stop making westerns or horror movies? It's a genre, best learn to live with it since it's not going to go away.

It's not a genre, it's a cheap way to make a movie

This complaint always astounds me. Its one technique among many for making a movie. There aren't that many. If you don't like them, fine. Its neither right nor wrong to like or dislike them.

As another poster says, do you complain about the existence of westerns or horror?

If every film becomes found footage, I would agree with you. Since that is not likely to happen, there isn't a problem.

It's a gimmmick. The genre is sci-fi in this case or horror in most found footage movies.
The fad has died down. A couple of years ago there was a horror one coming out every month or so

If I don't reply, you're probably on my ignore list for something I forgot already

NEVER!! Over the years, movie after movie, there's so much hate for hand held movies. Grave Encounters 2 is one of my all-time favorite horror movies. And I've read pretty much nothing but hate for that movie, I don't get it. Hopefully there will be a 3rd at somepoint!! :) I guess I am just part of the minority who loves these movies. Project Almanac and Chronicle are the best movies filmed in this style, IMO. I want more!!
