I think what Theo actually realized in the end


Is that he too was under control of fate.

I dunno, I think he had already seen the whole thing by the time he could make people tap their fingers or raise his hand to make everyone be quiet.

I think the moment of realization in the end is the same that the other two main characters have. All of that happened because the woman forgot her name wanted to feel. Everything Theo did helped her get there, while he thought he was doing his own experiments.

So what he realizes is his place in the pattern.

I think the big tipoff for what he figures out is that he looks directly into the camera. I think he realizes he's an actor in a movie

That ending is just so subtle, the millisecond glance into the camera, before cut to black. Beautiful.
