Did anyone else notice....

when Zach and Marie met and held hands for the first time at the cafe scene,
in her chapter, the scene became more colorful after it was a bit pale the moment she touched him,
And in his chapter, it was colorful and intense and suddenly became pale.

I think it was brilliant. It signifies her heightened emotions, while Zach started to feel less emotional and more rational. What do you think?

reply

Noticed it too, and it was surely completely intentional.

reply

Yes, it was! Mind blowing! Loved it.

I noticed that, and another thing. The school emblem 'Knowledge determines destiny' is first shown from the left in Marie's story, then from the right in Zach's, and finally from the front in Theo's. Focusing on 'knowledge', 'destiny', and 'determines' respectively.

Marie is the one who seeks knowledge. She is the most gifted, most in sync with the nature, but lacks emotions, and tries to compensate it with constant search for knowledge. Zach is the one who is secretly Marie's destiny, also the one who tries to change his destiny, to fool it. And Theo is the one who determines, and the one who connects the two.

Wow I didn't notice that. Good eye! Your analysis is also most impressive. Thanks for sharing it!

reply

The school emblem (above the words "Knowledge determines destiny") also looks like a maze puzzle.

Bravo

Admit it bro, you're the director. This is so cool! Word of God right here, folks.

I loved it too! But I don't think it was about emotions. When they touched, their frequencies became similar. Red has the lowest frequency and purple has the highest. So Marie's vision became "redder" while her frequency getting lower, and Zak's frequency became higher and so did his vision.
By the way students had different tie colors according to their frequencies in the school. It's explained when Zak crossed the room. The order was red-orange-yellow-green-blue-purple, just like the rainbow.
I hope I explained it understandably, excuse my poor English (:

reply

I like your analysis. Thanks for sharing it, nonattached. Yes, this makes sense as well. Your English is not poor.

reply

Well, I'm not blind if that's what your asking.

reply

Also, the acting changes, from Marie's point of view, zak acts more composed. But, the second time around, from Zak's perspective, he acts more unstable and emotional. Which along with the shift in colors makes the cafe scene my favorite part of the movie.
