Is there anything wrong with this movie?

I can't come up with anything... except maybe they should have played that annoying "What's the frequency, Kenneth?" song in the ending credits.

reply

No. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this film. It completely blew me away!

Only goes to show you can pretend to be deep and the hipsters will bite.
Even if you think there is anything interesting or meaningful in this exercize in pretentiousness, surely you can't pretend that the guy playing Theo sounded or looked believable at any given moment in the movie, can you?

Believable as compared to what? THIS was clearly different in every aspect from the very beginning. Wasn't that a good enough clue for you that it wasn't going to be some mainstream movie?

Just because you don't get it doesn't mean no one else does, and just because someone claims they get it doesn't mean they do.

reply

I think often people think that there is "something to get" when in fact the thing to get is that "there is nothing to get" other that what is presented.

So your only real gripe is a guy's physical appearance/acting abilities? That seems very subjective to me.

I feel like you are sensitive about not really understanding the film so you are lashing out like a child.

I almost checked out at the Mozart reveal...but they they reeled me back in and the entire film landed perfectly.

reply

They only do super close up camera scenes which gets really weird. The FBI type agency seemed fake and has only 3 persons in it and no great office or equipment. The story was not always making sense it kinda tried to be weird. The ideas the intelligent people talked about were just philosophical ideas. It did not make sense for the other people to believe or disbelieve them without further proof.

He asked us if there were anything wrong with the movie. There is. I can name even more things. Like people being persuaded by simple philosophical arguments right away but then thought otherwise if the proof did not come right away. It was a hail science movie written by artists and not scientists. Still it gets a passing grade. But I would much rather recommend Triangle or Time Lapse. Both are much better movies overall.

reply

I see a lot of people recommend the movie Triangle and it bugs me every time. Let me explain... I did think Triangle was a good film however I watched Time Crimes first, it is the same movie except that it is 40 or 50 times better and should always be recommended over Triangle. This is not even my opinion it is actual fact.

reply

Yes, Timecrimes is phenomenal, but don't dismiss Triangle either. They're not exactly the same movie at all.

reply

Hmm, usually the retort is "try a movie with car chases". But just because someone criticizes a thoughtful movie doesn't mean they don't like thoughtful movies, that response is just an argumentum ad hominem.
