I feel that most period dramas are very watchable, I watch Howards end (more modern but somewhat a period drama) at least twice a month. Belle, however is so bloody watchable! Everything about it, the score (to die for) the acting (superb) the sets and costumes! I can watch this every week and enjoy it just as much as the first time!

sharea serendipitous find where i thought i'd give it a try and i was pleasantly surprised at how immensely enjoyable it was. love watching those rare movies where you know nothing about it and it ends up being great. usually you know the sypnosis and the actors in it but in this case i knew nothing but that it was a period movie.
this was well acted, well paced, nice story and i really bought the gradual romance between dido and davinier.
I love period dramas too, and this one did not disappoint me at all. It's now one of my favorites and I'll never get tired of watching it. It's a wonderful story and the ladies' gowns and music are so beautiful. Howards End is also one of my favorites.
