The heroine was belligerent and unlikable. Other than the theatre references, the script wasn’t very funny. I thought the 1944 film had a much more compelling plot, especially concerning how Sir Simon came to be bricked up. And I hate when actors disguise their voices I love, so only Miranda Hart was enjoyable.

I just saw the preview and that was poorly made. It didn't have an impact or sense of anything. Comedy, wonder, mystery, etc... Nothing came of it. I assume the film has the same issue of thinking it's fun but not delivering.
