The acting is just appalling

Its really too bad. The film has quality, and Eli has great ideas, but unfortunately it is delivered by the worst group of "actors" I have ever seen. I'm sure it had a lot to do with the distribution issues it had. If they were to get Hostel level talent I think it would have added a better sense of realism to the film. The "California valley girl" voices from the females it enough to make me cringe. Does anyone else agree that the acting was harder to watch than the gore?

Agreed. Even though I'm a fan of director Eli Roth, this film definitely had some major flaws...and the acting was one of them. Such a shame too. With a better cast, and in my opinion, a more properly executed ending, this film could've had a lot of potential. But there were some scenes where the acting was most certainly 'cringe-worthy'.

That scene where Kirby Bliss Blanton was sitting in the cage, and was like,

"3 days?! I won't last 5 minutes! I need to get out of here now!"

That line was so poorly delivered and unconvincing.

The acting is pretty flat, but I think it’s more of an issue with bad directing than bad acting. A shame, because I love Cabin Fever and have always tried to defend Eli Roth as being misunderstood, but there’s really no defense here. His directing seems really careless here. Like the scene where Alejandro is trying to save the blonde chick with the spear thru her throat, only for her to get stabbed thru the head. He gives this subpar “no!” that sounds more like somebody sat in his reserved seat than his friend dying.
