Which is the better book, this or Gone Girl?

I was really into Gone Girl, and the movie was really good too. I don't really know much about this one, wanted to read it before I reviewed it but not gonna have time. I hope to have a review up on my channel by the way on July 15. Also you could check me out here.

I thought Dark Places was a better book. I haven't watched Gone Girl, but thought the book was good but sort of slow. Dark Places took me longer to finish but I still really liked it. I'd definitely recommend reading it. I also heard Sharp Objects is the best out of her three books.

Dark Places was much better than Gone Girl. My favorite book of hers was Sharp Objects. It is the best out of the three, imho.

I agree that Dark Places was the better book. I found it hard to leave the atmosphere that it conjured up behind, even many days after finishing the book.

Me too. Sharp Objects and Dark Places are both better than Gone Girl in book form imo. This one def stayed with me for awhile.

Gone Girl. Dark Places is a good "sins of the past" tale, but the shifting POVs in Gone Girl elevate it beyond being just a simple mystery.

Can you dig it? I knew that you could!

Plus all of the twists!!

I preferred Dark Places. It was a better read for me (in terms of atmosphere and solving the mystery) and I actually liked the main character. I preferred the ending as well.

I preferred Gone Girl. I think the characters were more interesting. Dark Places felt very slow and I got tired of the characters (and felt like they were kinda stupid) really quickly. I think even if you guess Gone Girl's twist it is interesting because the twist isn't just about the action but about the people and how you're perspective on them changes.

Gone Girl. It's more famous for a reason.

You can't go wrong with any of Flynn's novels. She becomes a better writer with each book but her first two novels are a little more demented.

Gone Girl is her best book imo, more complex, more interesting characters, it had everything you want. She really managed to create a world.

Feel your heart beat.
