I thought it would have been neat if the director snuck in a few GG references in the movie. For example, during one of the 1985 flashbacks they could have showed one of the Day girls reading an Amazing Amy book.
shareGone Girl was still in production when this was filmed. Also I believe the films are owned by different companies.
shareWhy? It's two completely different stories based off of two different books written by the same person. If every screenwriter referenced other work in everything they wrote it would take away from the story.
