This movie is excellent and im so happy that Theron still acts in such interesting films , i saw a little bit of her character in monster in this role , cus they re both messed up and confused , maybe this is why i liked this film alot , am i the only saw this ?

I lead a largely super-busy life, and finished grad school a few years ago - and am still trying to catch up on pop culture stuffs, so it's not like me to see a new movie. Usually, in my semi-downtime, I will put something I've been meaning to see on and half-watch it. All of this really leads to a point - I'm out of the loop. When I started watching, I actually didn't know who was in it. No, seriously; that's why I jumped on imdb, to see who that was that was reminding me of Aileen Wuornos. XD I thought CT was too young-looking to be herself, and was expecting to see some younger actress, whom I would have to applaud for riffing off of a pretty amazing performance in Monster (and yes, I mean riffing, not 'ripping').
So I had my 'oh, dang!' moment, and had to take a quick look to see if anyone else had remarked similarly. :D CT is an awesome actress; I'm not done watching (if it ends the way I thought in the first ten minutes, I'll be pissed), but so far I don't consider this to be a derivative performance, just a somewhat similar one in terms of some tone in character.

shareI thought at first I was watching Monster for a minute there. I love Monster but wasn't in the mood for another heart wrenching movie. Now that I know what it is about I have it back on.
