That the brother has been convicted without evidence just because he likes satanism, like in the documentary Paradise Lost.
And the three (!) girls' aunt is called Diane (documentary there's something wrong with aunt diane)

Seems like this family was pretty doomed anyway!

I think it's probably coincidence about Diane.
But, I wouldn't doubt that the West Memphis Three case was a little bit of Flynn's inspiration. But there were other infamous cases in the 1980s involving supposed satanic rituals, molestation and uncovered memories. So, I assume that Flynn drew from all of it for inspiration.
