The movie seemed to rely heavily on the words of the book. I get that a lot of people would be happy with that happening to books they love, but this movie seemed to use the book's words too much. Like they ripped the pages out and handed them to the cast like it was a play or something. I think they thought it would work better than reworking the book, but I think it failed partly because there was no 'side-bubble thought' that was able to be captured like in the book... It's hard to put in words, but it was kind of like listening to an audiobook almost.

If you haven't read the book and don't plan to, though (like me) then it works well enough...

At least it isn't artificial dialogue that only makes sense on the page... That would be much worse.



Yeah, I guess that makes sense. I saw Gone Girl before this movie and was hoping that both lived up to the book. Maybe if someone else got their hands on this movie it would've come to life better.
