They had the Joan Jett cover of "do ya wanna touch" playing, I hope he didn't get any cash for this...

I'm sure that's why the OP asked.

I don't think covers provide royalties. That's why they're used.

I'm guessing Joan Jett did, since she's on the soundtrack. I know Jag Panzer was compensated for using their old song in the movie.

apparently he sold the rights to his back catalogue in the late 1990s so wouldn't get any royalties for his songs being used now (this only came to light after the much more high profile use of his music in Joker!)
