Long slow movie but the ending was powerful
If you don’t mind the slow burn of a movie then give this one a chance

shareDefinitely could have done with a little editing to make it flow a bit better. But well worth it for the performances alone especially from Garrett Hedlund,Carey Mulligan, Jason Mitchell, Mary J Blige and Jonathan Banks. It does take it's time at telling it's story, and that could put a lot of people off. But it's a solid 7 film.
shareI enjoyed it quite a bit. Didn't mind the length of the film at all.
shareEh another one of the hundreds of "powerful" pro-black films. Gets tiring after awhile.
shareyeah i agree im sick and tired of so many black movies nowadays where all white people are bad but all black people are perfect. i am not racist but cmon!!!
shareAll white people in this movie were not bad unless you fell asleep during the second half of the movie. Slavery lasted for 4 hundred years and Jim Crow last for decades afterwards. That’s part of American history. And anyone who has to say they aren’t racist to prove a point is more than likely racist
