Fair Isle

I've not read the books so am still working on a lot of the characters' backstories, even in series 2.

Doesn't Perez say he's from Fair Isle? That's a teeny island out there all by itself, not even on the ferry routes, isn't it?

Does he mean originally from Fair Isle when he introduces himself? Because he certainly cannot be investigating crimes and commuting from a place without a ferry stop, haha. Otherwise he must have a dependable boat.

And he seems to live in and around Lerwick, or so it seems.

My experience with the Shetlands is limited, not yet having actually been there. So trying to sort the areas and references.

Guess I need to read the books. ha

He is originally from Fair Isle but now lives on Mainland.

There is a ferry; the 'Good Shepherd IV' which makes the journey from Fair Isle to Mainland and back once a week... not many people use it though as the short flight is more comfortable.

I'm only going to say this once: stay out of Camberwick Green - Sam Tyler

Mainland does not mean Great Britain. Fair Isle is part of The Shetland Islands.
God, that place looks bleak!

Fair Isle is an amazing place but it can feel bleak when it is blowing a gale and pouring with rain! I've only been there in September/October; I imagine it is very bleak in the middle of winter when weather stops the planes and ferry and all the guests have left the island.

Personally, I think Gene Hunt should be allowed to go to Camberwick Green. Nonces need sorted!

In "Raven Black," Jimmy says he's originally from Fair Isle, then Glasgow, and now he lives in Lerwick.
