Series 3 at last

I have just caught up with the first two episodes of series 3 and I must say I am disappointed.

Massively disappointed that I have to wait until Friday to see the third episode of what has become a magnificent series.

It's my fault, I should have been patient and waited until it was all over and watched it in one block as is the norm.

If you have watched the first two series and thought it was just OK, then this third series is streets ahead, I was dubious at first as to whether a six parter rather than six single episodes would work but it seems to be working so far, for me at any rate.

Douglas Henshall is brilliant and getting better as Jimmy Perez and I love his sidekicks, so glad they are both back, shame no dog but hey-ho.

The real star so far has been Ciaran Hinds who is just so effing menacing, a real nasty piece of work.

Having been to Shetland on holiday twice it is also great to be able to spot places, hotels, landmarks, cliffs that I have stood on. We got a bit Giddy when they went into the information centre where we had a long conversation with Robin a few years ago.

So far so good now we will have to crawl along to the finale.

You watch this just so you can verbally masturbate over where you have stood or visited in an certain dwelling in Shetland? Jimmy Crickets mate, you need to get over yourself, it is just an e'ffing show, no one wants an autograph. I can film my toilet and ponder about having dueced in it many a times, maybe you should go stand atop an mountain for a decade and we can all see you on Google earth in an image and talk about it, wow mate, just wow..

I'm a bit hasty and harsh today, neighbor stole my fish and chips. Sorry to be an internet tough guy, my Jack London binge reading is taking a toll on me, turning me into an aggravated wolf

It's nice to see a bit of self reflection... The world is as lonely a place as we choose to make it. You're worthy of friends but you have to make them...

Did I miss something?

Couldn't agree with you more. This show is fantastic. I normally watch serials in one bloc, but can't with this one because I'm watching from the US and the episodes aren't available long enough to save to "binge watch." I haven't seen the first two series, but this third one had me captivated from the "get go."

The story is well-written, well-acted, and paced perfectly. The location is spectacular; Scotland is at the top of my bucket list! "Shetland" is suspenseful and the hour dissolves quickly, leaving me counting the days until the next episode. Currently, the best hour in TV drama - US producers take note - this is the way entertainment is done right.
