Better than Broadchurch S1

I haven't read the books and have only seen one episode, but prefer it over Broadchurch.

BOHICA America!

I hear that Shetland S3 will tell a single story, just like Broadchurch S1.

Oh my god, I hope not. The starring attraction to me is short different stories

reply

No, but definitely better than Broadchurch S2

They did a great job of ripping the concept off, but yeah I agree it is better

Season 3 of "Shetland" and "Broadchurch 1" are both top-notch. Wouldn't have wanted to miss either compelling drama.

Too true. My shopping list stuck on the fridge is better than Broadchurch s2.

:-)))))))))))

I struggled highly to make it through the cringeworthy court scenes and gave up, then finally finished the rest of it when my wifi was down and it was the ONLY thing stored on the computer and it was listless viewing.

It was a real let down.

It seems also it's become the reviewer touchstone for "spectacular fail second series."

I often read in reviews of popular shows that are premiering their second series whether or not it will "be another Broadchurch series 2 disaster" suffering the ultimate sophomore epic fail.

HAHA!

And that is the sad thing, Series 3 of Shetland has been every bit as good as Broadchurch, maybe not better than series 1, but at least as good as (IMHO). So the schedulers dick about with it, missing two weeks in a 6 week run. It has been criminal. A 6 parter is a great idea if done well, long enough to get your teeth into but not too long to have filler episodes (typical of US 13 parters). BUT not if you spread it all out over 7 long weeks.

So well done to the writers / producers and actors. Yah boo sucks to the suits in BBC house for the atrocious scheduling.

I couldn't have said it better. Right on.

What the heck were they thinking?

In the olden days, scheduling something THIS poorly and ruining the first glimpse of Shetland in nearly 2 years (!)...might actually involve somebody being put on a enforced "gardening leave."

And insult to injury, they decided to give us a 6-part story arc, the least favorable format for 2 sports breaks. For cripes sake.
